This week The Real Truth Legacy Project, led by Liverpool West Derby Ian Byrne MP, began rolling out educational materials about Hillsborough to teachers in schools across the country., in conjunction with AQA, an education charity and the largest provider of general qualifications in England.

A week of action to highlight the urgent need for the Right To Food to be enshrined in law, has come to an end this weekend with events held in Belfast, Liverpool and London.

Chanting children have led the charge at a Hunger March through the streets of Liverpool today as hundreds of people rallied for a legal Right To Food.

This week is Right To Food Week 2023 and from today until Saturday 23rd September we will be covering the events and activities of Right To Food Week on a dedicated web page here.

Today I have tabled a motion in Parliament to acknowledge national Right To Food Week 2023, which runs from 18th-23rd September.

Today, on what would have been Olivia’s 10th birthday, I tabled a motion in Parliament to honour Olivia and to recognise the efforts of her mum Cheryl and the local community to create a memorial park in Olivia’s name as well as a community hub.

Today I was incredibly proud to join staff and Year 6 pupils at St Teresa of Lisieux Catholic Primary School here in West Derby for an assembly to remember the Hillsborough disaster, as part of the rollout of our Real Truth Legacy Project.

I was proud to stand in solidarity this morning with a heartbroken community fighting the closure of their vital Post Office in Baycliffe Road.

I thoroughly enjoyed this morning’s visit to the breathtaking Botanic Collection in Croxteth Hall with the gardening team and guests.

Today I have written to Thérèse Coffey MP, the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) to ask her to intervene now to curb the selfish profiteering by some companies in the food supply chain.

The Government must take urgent action to stop profiteering in light of spiralling food price inflation over the past year.
