Watch: My Urgent Question on Champions League Final debacle
I was in Paris for the Champions League Final last month. I was also at Hillsborough. Today I secured an Urgent Question in the House of Commons on the situation in Paris.
I told Parliament that if it were not for the magnificent efforts of Liverpool fans in Paris, we could have had another disaster. I also pointed out that shamefully, the smears and lies by the authorities were straight from the Hillsborough playbook.
I urged the Government to support my demands for a full retraction and apology from the French authorities and UEFA for the smearing of Liverpool fans and a truly independent inquiry into the chaos in Paris.
