Standing in solidarity with striking rail workers this week
Standing in solidarity with workers in struggle lies at the very core of the Trade Union and Labour movement. We exist to represent and improve the lives of working people.
As a proud trade unionist and an elected representative of the party built by trade unions, I have proudly stood alongside the striking National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) members and Parliamentary colleagues this week on picket lines in both London and Liverpool.
We should be in no doubt that this wretched Government has created the conditions resulting in the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) strikes.
The Tories want to demonise trade unionists and workers who fight back, just as they have demonised refugees to deflect from their dishonest toxic leader and leadership.
Last week in Parliament the Government held a debate on the industrial action announced by the RMT.
