Liverpool we can do this - let’s Save Zoe’s Place!
Today I met with Trustees of Zoe’s Place Liverpool regarding its future and I put forward a plan to lead on a £5 million fundraising drive to help keep our hospice open.
The wonderful Zoe’s Place Liverpool Baby Hospice here in West Derby has this week announced it will close by the end of this year unless £5 million can be raised by 9th November 2024 to secure its future in Liverpool.
As the Member of Parliament for Liverpool West Derby constituency, I cannot stand by and watch Zoe’s Place Liverpool close.
Instead I’m reaching out to our entire city to come together as part of a Save Zoe’s Place Campaign and raise the £5m required to build a new Zoe’s Place Liverpool hospice in our constituency.
And with the backing of our fantastic local community, I really believe we can reach this target for our hospice, children and their families.
It’s certainly a huge ask to raise £5 million in a matter of weeks, but if any city can do this, it’s Liverpool.

Following our meeting today Joan Stainsby, Executive Trustee at Zoe’s Place Liverpool, said:
“We’ve been profoundly struck, and deeply grateful, for the outpouring of support from the people of Liverpool for our work at Zoe’s Place.
We’re particularly thankful that Ian Byrne MP has confirmed his unequivocal support to help us realise our dream of a new home. We look forward to working closely with him and all our supporters in the hope we can secure a future for Zoe’s Place Liverpool in 2025.
We are so grateful to have the backing of Ian Byrne MP and the Liverpool community, who are committed to helping us raise the funds needed to prevent the closure of our hospice.”
