Committee: No evidence of ‘levelling up’ in Liverpool

On Monday I had the opportunity to question senior officials at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities at a Committee evidence session.

Addressing the witnesses, I said there is no evidence of “levelling up and resilience” in Liverpool, after noting that one of the department’s overall objectives is a ‘sustainable and resilient local government sector’ that delivers priority services and empowers communities.

I told the department officials that this couldn’t be further from the truth in Liverpool.

You can watch a clip of me questioning the officials here.
