Letter: Stop the deportations of asylum seekers to Rwanda
Today I have written an urgent letter to the Home Secretary, Priti Patel MP, about Home Office plans to deport asylum seekers to Rwanda. This includes a planned flight that was due to leave the UK this week and was prevented from doing so at the last minute by the magnificent efforts of human rights campaigners.
In my letter to the Home Secretary, I conveyed the feelings of many West Derby constituents who have written to me to say they are appalled by these plans.
I told the Home secretary to stop the planned flight to Rwanda this week and to cancel any further planned flights and urged her to withdraw this dehumanising and appalling Government policy in its entirety.
