Ian Byrne MP asks Michael Gove not to axe Household Support Fund in Liverpool

The Household Support Fund has been a lifeline for 330,000 households in Liverpool and the Tories are seeking to end the funding in March.

In Parliament this week, Ian Byrne MP called on Secretary of State Michael Gove to reverse this decision, echoing the calls of Liverpool Council Leader Liam Robinson.

Like many other councils, Liverpool City Council says the fund will need to continue beyond March 2024 to keep residents well supported, to stay in and enter work, and to prevent an escalating crisis.
